Gyusan Japanese BBQ and Sushi: Premium Wagyu, Fresh Sushi & All-You-Can-Eat Dining in Columbia, MD

Killer service, Leo was awesome. Great food and reasonable given the cuts. AYCE top tier is 98pp, 88pp once memberships go through soon. AYCE also included the sushi (normally +$5pp). We went all out with the A5 and Legend edition. Definitely will be coming back again! Will be asking for Leo every time!

Not sure if this was a newer location (I've been to the location in Arlington). There seemed to be plenty of parking in a nearby garage and some parking lots which were pretty packed. Not sure if the garage normally charges but the gates were up (around 3:30 on a Saturday. We didn't make a reservation and maybe waited 10 minutes before being sat. While we had been to anther location, it had been awhile ago so they re-explained how the AYCE option worked. Lots of options to choose from depending on what type looking for, we ended up going with the legendary. You can become a member here for a discounted price on the menu. They mentioned that they weren't doing a full bar until 4 so we only had some options of canned or bottled. We had initially asked for a drink menu and they said they weren't ready and would provide when available but not sure when other drinks or draft ended up actually becoming availability. It did feel like our pan wasn't super hot to begin with. It just took a really long time to cook the meat. Our Special Meat Section B came out pretty quickly as well as the A5 Waygu Uni Sushi. We had ordered the Gyu San sampler which took probably 30 minutes to come out. When they had brought the Special Meat, they said it would be out shortly but we had to ask almost 20 minutes later. I will say that the Waygu Fried Rice was delicious. Overall, really good cuts and good but there were some of the meat that stuck to the display in our boxes. Service was ok but staff was friendly.

Everything was so yummy! The quality of the meats were amazing. I don’t usually enjoy beef, but the beef here was so flavorful and wagyu was melt in your mouth. The sauces provided were all pretty yummy, green one was my favorite. Lots of apps/dishes to try like sushi and ramens included in the AYCE tiers! Such a good spot for a quality meal with friends

Absolutely Loved This Place! I really enjoyed this new restaurant—the atmosphere is perfect! The décor is modern, beautiful, and unique, with a vibe that feels like a mix between a stylish lounge bar and a live stage. It made the dining experience both relaxing and fascinating. The food was absolutely delicious and top quality. The Wagyu beef BBQ was a standout—so tender it just melted in my mouth. And the real surprise hit for us was the Wagyu beef burger—juicy, flavorful, and with just the right texture. My husband even joked he wants to order 10 next time! The sashimi and sushi were incredibly fresh and also melted in mouth. On top of all that, the service was warm and attentive, and the DJ/music created such an amazing vibe—it really made our night! Highly recommend checking this place out. We’ll definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Most High-End Japanese BBQ Around Columbia! Gyu San is honestly one of the only truly high-end Japanese restaurants in the Columbia area, and it does not disappoint. The food is incredible — from perfectly grilled Japanese BBQ to fresh sushi and handmade soba noodles. The quality of ingredients and presentation really stand out. The atmosphere is both classy and comfortable, and the service is consistently top-notch. There’s even a sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the experience even more special. The alcohol bar is excellent too — featuring a wide selection of sake, soju, and other unique drinks to try. It’s the perfect spot for lunch or dinner with family and friends. Whether you’re here for the food, drinks, or just the overall vibe, Gyu San is definitely worth it!

My boyfriend & I walked in on a busy Friday night & was greeted by Gustavo who was able to get a table ready for us in less than 20 minutes. Once we sat down, Elena was super knowledgeable in the menu & recommended really good items. Then both managers Kenny & Leon came to our table to check on us throughout the service & recommended delicious mocktails. Everything from the service, the atmosphere & especially the food were 10/10! I can’t wait to visit again when the bar fully opens!

I had a great experience at Gyusan Japanese BBQ & Sushi! The service was super fast, friendly, and attentive — they checked on us often and made sure everything came out hot and fresh. We tried a mix of BBQ and sushi dishes, and everything was delicious: • Wagyu beef – incredibly tender and buttery, melts in your mouth • Shrimp, squid, and scallops – very fresh, perfectly grilled • Miso soup – warm, comforting, and flavorful • Ramen – tasty broth, noodles cooked just right • A variety of sushi – fresh, clean flavors, high quality fish Overall, this spot is perfect if you love Japanese BBQ with great service and high-quality ingredients. OUTSTANDING! I came here for their soft opening seeing how the literally just opened and I am extremely impressed! *Heads up, they do not have a liquor license yet, but they have two very cute and delicious $5 mocktails that were phenomenal. Normally I would knock a star but they’re in the process of getting their liquor license. *Service* The hostess greeted us very pleasantly and were so nice. It was only two of us and the wait was an hour but they sat us in 5-10 mins. Reservations should be made for parties of 4 or more. NATHAN was it server and he was so sweet, he even bowed to us. He was very knowledge on everything, and made our experience 12/10! The front host manager KENNY came by at the end to ensure everything was fine and that really made me happy to see a manager approach us about our experience. *Food* Absolutely delicious! It is all you can eat Japanese bbq AND sushi! Very small plates but their meats, sushi, and appetizers are top quality! That’s what makes them different from a Korean bbq. The prestige is $58, master is $78, and legend is $98. Each one have different type of meats and the Wagyu is included with the legend which is the top notch Japanese meat! You can get appetizers, salad, sushi, and dessert with any of the all you can eat options. It is definitely worth the price. *Ambiance* This is a top scale restaurant and it looks like it! Also I’ve been in 100’s of food restrooms and this is by far the coolest, cleanest, gender neutral, and eco-friendly restroom I’ve ever been in! I felt like I was in Tokyo at a cool hip upscale restaurant! *Overall* I HIGHLY recommend this facility! My fiancé and I left astounded by every moment spent here tonight for a date night. This will definitely be one of our to go to spots! From start to finish we were impressed!
